This calculator counts the exact number of calendar days between two dates by comparing the day-by-day difference. Business day mode excludes Saturdays and Sundays (public holidays are not automatically excluded — check your local calendar).

Enter a start date and end date in the calculator above and click Calculate. The calculator counts every calendar day between the two dates inclusive of the start date but not the end date. For example, from 1 January to 31 January is 30 days. You can also switch to business days (Monday–Friday only) to exclude weekends.
Calendar days count every day of the week including weekends and public holidays. Business days (also called working days) count only Monday through Friday, excluding weekends. For a 30-calendar-day period, there are typically around 21–22 business days. Business day calculations are useful for delivery times, invoicing terms (net-30), and employment notice periods.
A regular year has 365 days; a leap year (divisible by 4) has 366 days. Months vary from 28 to 31 days: January, March, May, July, August, October, and December have 31 days; April, June, September, and November have 30 days; and February has 28 days (29 in a leap year).
