Need to compare two PDF files and see exactly what changed — a contract redline, two report drafts, or a before/after scan? This tool reads the actual text on each page, works out exactly which words were added, removed or changed, and highlights them directly on both documents — plus a readable change report listing every edit in plain text. For scanned pages with no extractable text, it automatically falls back to a highlighted visual diff instead. Everything runs locally in your browser — neither file is ever uploaded.
Changed words are highlighted directly on both the original and revised page, not just flagged as "different".
Every addition, removal and edit is also listed as plain, readable text below each page — no squinting at a pixel-diff mess.
Pages with no extractable text (scanned documents, image-based PDFs) automatically fall back to a highlighted visual diff.
See at a glance how many pages match, differ, or exist in only one of the two files.
If one PDF has more pages than the other, extra pages are clearly flagged as missing from the shorter file.
All comparison happens locally in your browser using pdf.js. Neither file is ever uploaded to any server.
It reads the actual text on each page and compares it word by word, then highlights exactly what changed on both documents along with a plain-text change report. If a page has no extractable text — for example a scanned document — it automatically falls back to a highlighted visual (pixel) diff for that page instead.
Pages that only exist in one file are clearly marked as missing from the other, and every page that exists in both is still compared normally.
This tool compares exactly two files at a time. To compare a third version, run the tool again with a different pair.
No server-side limit — because everything runs in your browser, very large documents may simply take longer to process on slower devices.
