Filled in a fillable PDF form and want to make sure nobody can accidentally change the answers later? Flattening a PDF form converts every fillable field — text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns — into permanent, static page content. The result looks identical but the fields are no longer clickable or editable in any PDF reader. Everything runs locally in your browser — your file is never uploaded.
Text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons and dropdown selections are all flattened into permanent page content.
The tool scans your PDF and tells you how many fillable fields it found before you flatten anything.
Flattened pages look exactly the same as before — only the underlying interactivity is removed.
No settings to configure. Upload, review the field count, and download the finished document.
Text, images and layout outside the form fields are completely untouched.
All processing runs locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is never uploaded to any server.
A fillable PDF form has interactive fields layered on top of the page. Flattening bakes the current value of every field directly into the page content and removes the interactive layer, so the result behaves like a normal, static PDF that cannot be edited through its form fields anymore.
Yes. Whatever is currently filled in — text, checked boxes, selected radio buttons and dropdown choices — is preserved exactly as shown, just made permanent.
No. Flattening is one-way. Always keep a copy of your original fillable PDF if you might need to edit the form again in the future.
The tool will tell you no fillable fields were found. There is nothing to flatten in that case — the file is already static.
